Always Celebrating Our Dancers

OUR ATELIER ENVIRONMENT AND WHAT IT MEANS

Atelier is a French word meaning an artist's workshop or studio, a place in which both the art and the artist are molded, shaped and nurtured. It best describes Ballet Mobile's environment because it represents the artistic journey of the dancer who is continuously growing and discovering. Just as Ballet Mobile transforms any room into an artistic experience, so too does ABC offer the multidimensional adventures of the artistry itself.

Parents and loved ones say it best: "Whenever I watch them dance, I have to try not to cry because what they do is so beautiful." "I cannot believe what these young people are able to do and how much they love it." "Every time I watch, I am revitalized." "All of you deserve standing ovations." "I think I learn as much as they do every time I watch." "What a golden opportunity this is for all these dancers - and for all of us."

ABC TEACHERS

Our students' success is our success. When each dancer uses the workshop-like artistic environment to stimulate and accelerate learning and progress, we have achieved our goal. We help each dancer realize that ballet is so much more than just the technique and steps. The artistic whole is truly greater than the sum of all its parts.

Renee Meyer is Ballet Mobile's Artistic Director. She studied with Ballets Russes soloists Roman Jasinski and Moscelyne Larkin and with Robert Joffrey and his faculty in New York City. A Tulsa Ballet Theatre soloist, she studied and performed at Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, where she learned directly from Papa Ted Shawn, Barton Mumaw, Margaret Craske, and Norman Walker. Miss Renee performed, taught, and choreographed at Southwestern Regional Festivals and companies, studios, colleges, and high schools in Oklahoma, Texas, Massachusetts, Vermont, Virginia, Maryland, California, and Washington, D.C.

Angela Walker is Ballet Mobile's Ballet Mistress, as well as an ABC instructor and superb choreographer. She began her ballet study in her mother's studio in Kansas City, later becoming a soloist with the Kansas City Ballet. She studied at the Harkness School in New York City. She danced and taught in Germany and the U.S. while serving in the military for over 20 years.

Rebecca Ross, a Ballet Mobile soloist, recently graduated from The University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, with a strong focus on Dance as well. A graduate of the Baltimore School for the Arts, Miss Rebecca had a one-year fellowship with the Kirov Academy of Ballet and spent summers at American Ballet Theatre and North Carolina Dance Theatre intensives. A beautiful ballerina, Miss Rebecca specializes in teaching Pointe and Modern.

Susan Moore is Ballet Mobile's Principal Artist, sharing her art with those who otherwise might never have the chance to enjoy and experience it. She began her ballet studies with Miss Renee when she was a small child, and she went on to study, teach, and perform professionally. Miss Susan is the heart and soul of Ballet Mobile - living Ballet Mobile's vision. Miss Susan mentors all the Ballet Mobile dancers and assists them all with their pointe technique.

SUPPORT FOR ATELIER
